'What ya looking at dating websites?' Laughed my boss
I flashed him an evil glare before returning to the job website I was actually looking at. My boss had become reallyattentive to melately, he was always going on about dating ever since he learnt I was single. I think he had assumed that having a small child meantI was in a relationship, at least somebodies girlfriend if not somebodies wife. So it probably came as some surprise to him when he overheard I was single from two other colleagues.
I didn't mind him knowing I was single, in fact I found him quite attractive and so far hadn't seen a wedding ring or any evidence of a wife, so when he did make the innuendos or comment about how I should be dating, it had often given me a little flutter inside. I'd even found myself fantasising occasionally about us having a fling. But, I had of course kept this to myself and always showed mydisapproval to his comments no matter what I actually felt inside.
Over the coming weeks the sexual innuendos and dating website comments continued. I even found myself showing approval on some occasions, reacting with a smile rather then a disapproving look, or returning an innuendo rather then walking away from them. It made work enjoyable and interesting. I thought more and more about theflingfantasy.
One Friday evening I was walking home, looking forward to an evening out with the girls as my little boy was at his dads for the night. I smiled to myself as my mind wandered again onto the possibility of a fling with the ever increasing seductive boss when who should pull up alongside me but none other than himself.
'Lift?' he said with a smile.
I knew deep down I probably shouldn't. Things had gotten slightly tense between us by now, so the idea of being alone in private was both exciting and desired, but also dangerous and silly. Still I got in the car, not really knowing where the journey would take us.
We rode to mine only speaking to tell or receive directions. I shouldn't have been surprised when he parked up and invited himself in for a 'cuppa'. We spent a couple of hours talking, laughing and joking, establishing we were both available and willing. Throwing in more innuendos, each one succeeding in increasing the sexual tension between us. It wasn't long before we couldn't resist each other anymore.
Back at work on the Monday we caught eye contact and shared a smilemany times, it felt exciting and dangerous to have the secret between us. The days were certainly going to be much more interesting and enjoyable now. So far into the day I took a phone call for him, almost beaming at the mention of his name, when asking the person who I should say was calling the simple reply I received was 'his wife'.
